Four Fun Upcoming Festivals In Metro Detroit

upcoming_events_300There are so many great events coming up in Detroit soon, but these four are really going to draw the crowds. If your family is looking for a fun event to attend, check out the Hug Festival, Food Truck Festival, Arts and Apples Festival, and the Victorian Festival.

Food Truck Festival

On August 23rd Detroit will be hosting the Food Truck Festival at noon. Sponsored by the Northville Chamber of Commerce, this free event will be at Ford Field, Northville, 150 Griswold in Northville, MI. Event will include Beer Garden until 10:00, Food Trucks from 2:00pm – 8:00pm, Car Show from 11:00am – 3:00pm and free food and beverages at the Food Truck Rally and Beer Garden. Live entertainment will be provided by Just Push Play, Ricky See, and Main Street Soul and afterwards there will be an outdoor movie played. It should be a fun event with delicious food.

Hug Detroit Art/Music/Poetry Hug Festival

Another event coming to Detroit on August 23rd is the First Annual Hug Detroit Day Festival.  This free event will go from 11am – 9pm and will include face painting, poetry readings, food drive, yoga session, and free tea and water. Head out to Iron Street 6452 E. Jefferson in Detroit for music and activities all day.

Arts and Apples Festivals

This September, Paint Creek Center for the Arts is sponsoring the Arts and Apples Festival, the second biggest art festival in Michigan. From September 5-7, residents can head to Rochester Park to view almost 300 art exhibits, great entertainment and food.

Victorian Festival

Northville Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 26th Annual Victorian Festival.  September 12 from 4pm – 10pm, September 13 from 10am – 10pm, and September 14 from 10am – 4pm, guests can come celebrate the era in which Northville was founded through the many activities: carnival, art fair, parade, historic village, animal show, and beer garden and saloon.

This variety of events coming to Detroit soon will have something for the whole family. These free events will keep the family entertained and an opportunity to enjoy the culture of Detroit.
