Detroit has some exciting wine events coming to the area soon. Many of the best events come through the area during the fall. Here are just a few of the top choices for wine lovers near Detroit.
Made in Michigan Craft Beer and Wine Festival
At the end of September, Detroit will see the Made in Michigan Craft Beer and Wine Festival coming to the Diesel Concert Lounge. The event will benefit the non-profit organization, Hunt’s Gymnastics Academy Booster Club.
Located in Chesterfield, the event will feature over 30 breweries and wineries. The beers and wines are made from all over the state. This is great if your date for the event is more a beer drinker. Enjoy the raffle and live entertainment from Joe Anthony & Friends while you’re there.
The cost is $30 to get in if you pay in advance, and $35 at the door. Your ticket will get you 10 sampling tickets and a logo sampling cup. You can purchase additional sampling tickets at the event.
Make sure to leave the kids with a sitter because this event is for 21 years and older. The address is 33151 23 Mile Road in Chesterfield and doors open at 7pm.
Zonin Wine Makers Dinner @ J. Baldwin’s Restaurant
On September 22nd, head to J. Baldwin’s Restaurant for the Zonin Wine Makers Dinner. You’ll be able to take part is wine tastings and a five-course dinner. The food will be made by Chef Jeff Baldwin, who is well-known in the Detroit area. The wines will be from Casa Vinicola Zonin and their estate, Tenuta Rocca di Montemass in Tuscany.
The restaurant is located at 16981 18 Mile Rd in Clinton, MI. It will cost $75 a person and is for 21 years and older only. The event starts at 6:30. Seating is limited, so you’ll want to get your tickets soon.
Rugby Grille Patio Wine Series
For tastings of “summer sippers,” check out the Patio Wine Series by the Rugby Grille. They are located at 100 Townsend Street in Birmingham. For only $38 a person, you can enjoy light appetizers and a full pour. If you like any of the wines, they’ll be available for purchase that night. You’ll find this on their patio from 5pm-7pm on September 25th. 21 years and older only are permitted.
