The Fire & Ice Festival is coming to downtown Rochester for the 8th year in a row. For three days only you can take part in the premier winter event of Michigan. You can enjoy activities like skating, dog sled rides, skiing, demonstrations and more.
Many people love to roast marshmallows and enjoy the beer tent. The Bright Light Show illuminating the town is a big reason that this event fills up fast. Here is a look at everything you can expect at the Fire & Ice Festival this month.
The event starts on Friday, January 23 from 5-9pm. On Saturday the event will be going on from 10am-9pm and it will wrap up on Sunday the 25th from 9am-5pm. Guests will want to head over to downtown Rochester at East Third & Water. Admission is free for this winter festival.
What to See and Do
You can expect a variety of things to enjoy at the festival. There will be winter activities, tastings and lots of things to do and see. You’ll love see the ice sculptures, demonstration’s and fireworks. Try the TasteFest and beer tent for something to drink. You can also take part in the fun by trying some of the winter recreational activities. This will include:
- Dog sled rides
- Ice skating
- Tube sledding hill
- Snow shoeing
- Cross-country skiing
- Carriage rides
The ice carvings and figure skating demonstration will be enjoyable to watch. Enjoy marshmallow roasting, the tastefest/beer tent, face painting and the amazing light show. The Big, Bright Light Show will illuminate downtown making a rainbow of colors along with the spectacular firework display on Friday and Saturday nights.
There will even be a 5k race on Sunday and The Oakland County Pet Adoption Center doing pet adoptions during the festival. The 8th Annual Fire & Ice Festival is going to be a great time in downtown Rochester.
